The invention relates to a method for forming one or more mixed signals (Sout) from at least two digital source signals (S1, S2), particularly audio signals, wherein the mixed signal(s) (Sout) are formed by mixing the source signals (S1, S2). In particular, a characteristic magnitude of a source signal or of the mixing is predetermined and the value (W1, W2) of said characteristic magnitude is tattooed onto at least one of the signals (S1, S2, Sout). The invention also relates to a separation method for separating, at least partially, at least one digital source signal contained in one or more mixed signals including a tattooed value of a characteristic magnitude of a source signal or of the mixing. According to the method, the tattooed value and the characteristic magnitude of the source signal or of the mixing are determined, and then the one or more mixed signals are processed on the basis of said value so as to obtain, at least partially, said source signal. The invention also relates to the corresponding mixed signal (Sout), as well as to the corresponding devices.
