Who am I?

Dr. Atef Ben Youssef is a Temporary Teacher and Researcher Attached (ATER) to Grenoble University III. He joined the CRISSP team of the Speech and Cognition Department of GIPSA-Lab.

He was an ATER at the IUT d'Orsay of the Paris-South University (Paris 11). He was on the laboratory of informatics for mechanics and engineering science (LIMSI), as posdoctoral research fellow attached to the University Pierre and Marie CURIE (UPMC) - Paris 6, on March 2014 to work on the Training young Adult's Regulation of emotions and Development of social Interaction Skills (TARDIS) project.

He was a posdoctoral research fellow at the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh. He was on the Centre for Speech Technology Research (CSTR) from April 2012 to January 2014 to work on the Social Signal Processing Network (SSPNet) project.

He was a graduate student at Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble, France. He successfully defended his Ph.D. in October 2011. He worked in the Speech and Cognition Department of GIPSA-Lab from October 2008 to February 2012. His thesis focused on talking heads for augmented speech communication. In the frame of his Ph.D, he has worked on acoustic-to-articulatory speech inversion using statistical methods, e.g. hidden Markov models (HMM) and Gausian mixture models (GMM).
In 2008, he worked on statistical machine translation at the Grenoble Informatics Laboratory. He is a graduate of Grenoble University III, France (2008) and Monastir University, Tunisia (2007).

Since 2013, he is a reviewer of Interspeech and IVA conferences.
He is member of the International Speech Communication Association (ISCA).
He was member of the organizing committee of the 13th International Conference on Intelligent Virtual Agents (IVA 2013).
He was member of the organizing committee of the meeting of young researcher in speech (RJCP 2011).
He was the delegate of PhD-students in Speech and Cognition Department of GIPSA-Lab to the Laboratory Council.
He was the representative of PhD-students in the AERES 2010 (AERES: Evaluation Agency for Research and Higher education) of the Laboratory GIPSA-Lab and the graduate school EEATS.
He was member of the organizing committee of PhD-student's day (JDD 2009) sponsored by the graduate school EEATS
