science des donn\u00e9es consiste \u00e0 repr\u00e9senter et \u00e0 mettre en \u00e9vidence l&rsquo;interrelation entre des observables coupl\u00e9es. Le cas simple de deux observables qui varient dans le temps ou l&rsquo;espace conduit \u00e0 des signaux bivari\u00e9s. Ceux-ci apparaissent dans pratiquement tous les domaines des sciences physiques, chaque fois que deux quantit\u00e9s d&rsquo;int\u00e9r\u00eat sont li\u00e9es et mesur\u00e9es conjointement, comme en sismologie (par exemple, le mouvement horizontal et vertical du sol), en optique (coordonn\u00e9es transversales du champ \u00e9lectrique), en oc\u00e9anographie (composantes des vitesses de courant) ou en acoustique sous-marine (d\u00e9placements horizontaux et verticaux des particules), pour n&rsquo;en citer que quelques-uns.<br \/>Les signaux bivari\u00e9s d\u00e9crivent des trajectoires dans un plan 2D dont les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s g\u00e9om\u00e9triques (par exemple la directionnalit\u00e9) ont une interpr\u00e9tation naturelle en termes de la notion physique de polarisation habituellement utilis\u00e9e pour les ondes. \u00c0 titre d&rsquo;exemple, selon la th\u00e9orie de la relativit\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9rale d&rsquo;Einstein, les ondes gravitationnelles (OG) r\u00e9cemment d\u00e9tect\u00e9es sont caract\u00e9ris\u00e9es par deux degr\u00e9s de libert\u00e9, qui sont li\u00e9s au signal de d\u00e9formation spatio-temporelle bivari\u00e9e mesur\u00e9 par les d\u00e9tecteurs. L&rsquo;\u00e9tat de polarisation du signal observ\u00e9 est directement li\u00e9 \u00e0 celui de l&rsquo;onde, qui \u00e0 son tour fournit des informations cl\u00e9s sur la physique sous-jacente de la source. La polarisation est donc un concept central pour l&rsquo;analyse des signaux bivari\u00e9s.<br \/>De plus, ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es ont vu un int\u00e9r\u00eat accru pour l&rsquo;exploitation des signaux bivari\u00e9s dans de nombreuses applications. Par exemple, en acoustique sous-marine, l&rsquo;av\u00e8nement d&rsquo;une nouvelle modalit\u00e9 appel\u00e9e IVAR capable de mesurer la vitesse des particules a ouvert des voies de recherche prometteuses. En effet, contrairement aux capteurs conventionnels \u00e0 canal unique (i.e. capteurs de pression), ces nouveaux capteurs vectoriels permettent de sonder la \u00ab\u00a0g\u00e9om\u00e9trie\u00a0\u00bb du milieu de propagation sous-jacent. Ainsi, \u00eatre capable de tirer pleinement parti des informations recueillies dans les signaux bivari\u00e9s &#8211; notamment leurs propri\u00e9t\u00e9s de polarisation &#8211; est une \u00e9tape cruciale vers la compr\u00e9hension de ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes physiques complexes.<br \/>L&rsquo;avanc\u00e9e de ces connaissances physiques essentielles est li\u00e9e au d\u00e9veloppement de nouvelles m\u00e9thodologies tenant compte de la polarisation dans le traitement des signaux bivari\u00e9s. L&rsquo;inclusion de l&rsquo;information de polarisation dans le flux d&rsquo;analyse et de traitement de ces signaux est d&rsquo;un int\u00e9r\u00eat g\u00e9n\u00e9ral et peut avoir un impact sur toutes les t\u00e2ches \u00e9l\u00e9mentaires du traitement du signal bivari\u00e9, \u00e0 savoir l&rsquo;analyse, la mod\u00e9lisation, le filtrage, la d\u00e9tection et l&rsquo;inf\u00e9rence statistique.<br \/>Le projet RICOCHET vise \u00e0 \u00e9tablir un ensemble complet d&rsquo;outils th\u00e9oriques et m\u00e9thodologiques pour exploiter pleinement l&rsquo;information de polarisation des signaux bivari\u00e9s. Leur pertinence sera largement d\u00e9montr\u00e9e sur des probl\u00e8mes pratiques importants survenant dans des applications physiques, notamment l&rsquo;astronomie gravitationnelle,
