December 6th, 2021: My participation to DeepTech Tour, workshop Quel profil pour entreprendre : DeepTech Tour (YoutTube)

I am Associate Professor with GRENOBLE-INP, Engineering School for Energy, Water and Enviornment (ENSE3). I am Researcher with GIPSA-lab (Data Science Department). I obtained the Accreditation to Supervise Research (HDR) from University of Grenoble Alpes, France, in November, 2012.

My Teaching activities are related to digital signal processing (3rd years of study level) as well as more specialized courses such as Signal representations and Models, Video compression. I am the head of Image and Signal for Energy and Environment (ISEE platform) and I am in charge of different practically and project-oriented signal processing teaching activities following Learn-By-Doing approach.

The applicative researches are concentrated around the surveillance of environments and of power infrastructures with contributions in terms of: AI systems for monitoring of hydro power systems (collaboration with EDF, General Electric), High Resolution Acoustic Imaging (collaboration with Thales, ITER Systems), Distributed Sensing of power distribution systems (collaboration with ENEDIS, EDF, Schneider,..),…

In terms of student Supervision I am currently supervisor of 5 PhD students and I was supervisor since 2004 of 17 PhD students. Also, I am used to supervise post-doctors (2/years) as well as undergraduate students (in average, 5/year.

My research activities have been subject of 50 articles in international journals, 167 articles in international conference proceedings, 6 chapters in collaborative books, 2 patents and 5 protected software. I participated to 11 invited seminars and conferences. I was also guest editor of one collaborative book and 2 special issues of international journals.

My applicative oriented research activities conducted to the creation of three start-ups: ALTRANS (2020), MOTHRYS (2018), CYBERIO (2010). I contribute to the development of these start-up as founder, CEO and scientific advisor.

I am recipient of French "Prime d’Encadrement Doctoral et de la Recherche" since October 2008. Other prices and distinctions: Grid’Up by ENEDIS award in 2017 for the TRANSLOCATOR project; I-lab 2018 award for MOTRHYS project; Award with Mothrys project at the General Electric Research and Innovation contest, 2019, in the "Algorithmes and Machine Learning" field.

I am an active member of different international scientific groups (IEEE Senior Member, IEEE Marine Technology Society,..) and I contributed to the organization of different scientific events:

  • Symposium on Signal and Data Analytics in HealthCare and Energy », Toronto, 24-25 August 2016 founded by Ryerson University et Le Consulat Général Français à Toronto.
  • International Workshop RPA 2015 “Sixth International Symposium on Recurrence Plot Analysis”, Grenoble, 17-19 June 2015
  • June 2008 and 2010, Organizer of three special sessions « Advanced works on transient signal characterization » at IEEE Conference Communications 2008, 2010 and 2014.
  • Special session «Non-stationary signal analysis in energy and environnement applications» at ASILOMAR 2010, United States
  • March 2010, Organizer of special sessions at IEEE ICASSP 2010 (International Conference on Acoustic, Speech and Signal Processing), Dallas, United States «Non-stationnary signal analysis in underwater communications».
  • October 2007, Organizer of Workshop « Non-stationnary signal processing – theory and applications » in Montenegro, co founded by French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
