The Software Department is a research support department that assists with both the planning and execution of scientific experiments and the dissemination of the results obtained.
Composed of seven engineers, it is part of the GIPSA-lab Technical Division.
- Develop, maintain, and document software that enables researchers to conduct experiments or scientific studies.
- To provide tools and methods for analyzing and sharing experimental data.
- Assist researchers in the development, evaluation, and publication of research.

Responsibilities of the Department
- Software development: algorithm implementation and optimization, mobile programming, graphical user interface development, embedded and GPU development, web development, using various languages: C++, Python, JS, PHP, R, C#, MATLAB, Arduino, SQL...
- Data acquisition, management, and processing: recording scientific data; expertise in “open data” that is easily accessible, interoperable, and reproducible (FAIR); creation and maintenance of databases; experimental protocols.
- Scientific computing, signal processing, computer vision, mathematical modeling, simulation, machine learning.
- Statistical Studies: Analysis of Experimental Data.
