Micro and nanosystems represent a major scientific and technological challenge, with actual and potential applications in almost all fields of the human activity.
The aim of the present book is to present how concepts from dynamical control systems (modeling, estimation, observation, identification, feedback control) can be adapted and applied to the development of original very small-scale systems and of their human interfaces. The application fields presented here come from micro and nanorobotics, biochips, near-field microscopy (AFM and STM) and nanosystems networks. Alina Voda has drawn contributions from leading experts at top research universities in France to produce a first overview of the major role that control systems science can play in the development of micro and nanosciences and technologies.

CETSIS - Colloque sur l'enseignement des technologies et des sciences de l'information et des systèmes - Grenoble du 8 au 10 mars 2010
Le colloque CETSIS est le lieu d'échanges privilégié des enseignants des universités, IUT, écoles d'ingénieur, lycées professionnels, pour ce qui concerne l'évolution des pratiques pédagogiques dans les domaines de l'électronique, l'électrotechnique, l'automatique, le signal et l'image, l'informatique industrielle ainsi que les réseaux et télécom. Il s'intéresse à la diffusion des savoirs et des connaissances adaptée à une grande diversité de public. Il est aussi ouvert aux autres disciplines connexes ou non. Construit essentiellement autour de démonstrations réelles, c'est ce qui fait toute l'originalité de ce colloque organisé par Gipsa-lab, le Club des enseignants et chercheurs EEA, l'UJF et Grenoble INP.

EVENEMENT : Semaine du CERVEAU 2010 à Grenoble. Du 15 au 20 mars
Cette année encore, les équipes de Gipsa-lab sont partenaires de l'édition 2010 de cette manifestation nationale consacrée au cerveau sous tous ses contours. WORKSHOP : NumBIG 2010 - Simulation Numérique et mécanique des fluides Biologiques et Géophysiques - 31 mars au 2 avril 2010, Grenoble Campus
La mécanique des fluides est au centre d'un grand nombre de phénomènes biologiques, géophysiques ou même cosmiques. La description détaillée de ces phénomènes (écoulements, étude à grande échelle) nécessite des ressources de calcul considérables afin de collecter, de calculer, de transférer et de visualiser des Tera- voire des Peta- bytes de données. L'objectif de ce workshop est de présenter un tour d'horizon des méthodes et des techniques utilisées en simulation numérique mais aussi d'aborder certains champs d'applications en biologie (respiration, production de la parole) ou dans le cadre d'écoulements géophysiques (tornades).

PARUTION : Multivariate Image Processing
Multivariate imagery is now a very common tool in numerous applications, ranging from satellite remote sensing and astrophysics to biomedical imagery, monitoring of the environment or industrial inspection. Multivariate must be understood in the most general way: color and multispectral imaging, but also multimodal, multisource or multitemporal imagery. In all the cases, the multivariate image corresponds to a set of standard grey level images. The availability of the additional diversity, be it spectral temporal and s.o., provides an invaluable source of information, enabling to consider a wide range of new applications. However,in order to address these applications, theoretical developments are required in terms of signal and image processing, or, more generally speaking, information processing. As a matter of fact, most of the standard algorithms designed for grey level images do not generalize easily to multidimensional spaces and some specific derivations are required. This book aims at presenting the most recent advances in signal and image processing for the analysis of multivariate data. It should be helpful for electrical engineers, PhD students and researcher working in the field of signal processing, but also for any engineer dealing with some specific application where multidimensional data are processed.
