Laurent Condat CNRS researcher in Japan for 10 months
This is the second stay in Japan for Laurent, who already got the same fellowship in 2012 for 3 months. Both stays are in collaboration with Prof. Akira Hirabayashi, head of the Media Sensing Lab in Ritsumeikan University, located close to Kyoto. Akira Hirabayashi conducts research in signal processing and image reconstruction, with applications, for instance, in medical tomography or for weather radar. Laurent Condat and Akira Hirabayashi, who have known each other since 2004, have already published several papers, most notably a paper about super-resolution in the journal Sampling Theory in Signal and Image Processing, in 2015. During this stay, they plan to work on convex relaxations of difficult problems, like restoring images of wrapped phases.
