The European Lab for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS) was founded with the vision to benefit Europe in two ways:
We want the best basic research to be performed in Europe, to enable Europe to shape how machine learning and modern AI change the world.
We want to have economic impact and create jobs in Europe, and believe this is achieved by outstanding and free basic research, independent of industry interests.
ELLIS Fellows are leading scientists in the European Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence community who advance science, and also act as ambassadors of ELLIS, thus giving a voice to data-driven AI research in Europe.
As of today, there are 25 ELLIS Fellows in France
