Summer School BigOptim2015: Large-Scale Optimization - Grenoble, June 29-July 3, 2015
The Summer School BigOptim2015 : Large-Scale Optimization : Proximal Algorithms and Applications will be held in Grenoble, from June 29 to July 3, 2015.
Optimization is a multidisciplinary field: the need to solve increasingly more complex problems, with data of large size, attracts interest from experts of statistics, signal and image processing, bioinformatics... Indeed, it is challenging to minimize a sum of convex functions in high-dimensional spaces. If you have background in applied maths, signal processing, or any other field, but no competence at all in optimization, this summer school is for you!
The 36th International Summer School of Automatic Control will be held in Grenoble in September 7 to 11, 2015. This Summer School will focus on the Positive invariance as a set-theoretic method for fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control.
The 35th International Summer School of Automatic will be held in Grenoble, September, 8-12, 2014. It will focus on Modern Tools for Nonlinear Contral. The goal is to expose a large community of students and researchers to novel nonlinear control tools developed in the last decade by internationally renowned experts. The Summer School is dedicated to PhD students, but it is open to researchers and teachers in control engineering or in applied mathematics. Basic knowledge in automatic control and mathematics will be useful. The registration is open until 15 July 2014.
The challenge of this summer school is to group efforts from the theoretical perspective of statistical signal processing on complex networks, and pratical considerations for analysing brain activity and connectivity. The research developments on these topics are necessarily multi-disciplinary, with expertise from neuroscience, signal processing, statistics. This school will be an unique opportunity to get together scientific experts from graphical models, information theory and neuroimaging in order to propose new paradigms to extract brain functional connectivity using fMRI, EEG, MEG and DTI.
