The 6th international Recurrence Plot Symposium (RPA) will be in Grenoble in June 2015.
Since 1992, recurrence plots (RP) and its recurrence quantification (RQA) have become important research tools in the analysis of short, noisy and non-stationary data. Theoretical work on and practical applications of RPs have reached considerable maturity and the popularity of these methods continues to expand into diverse areas such as physiology, astrophysics, biochemistry, finance, and meteorology, to name a few.

The 1st IFAC Workshop on Linear Parameter Varying systems will be held at Grenoble, from 7 to 9 October 2015.
This workshop topics will cover the control area for LPV systems: modelling, analysis, observation and control.

Les JGA 2015 (école thématique du CNRS) seront organisées du 16 au 20 novembre 2015, à l'institut d'études scientifiques de Cargèse, en Corse.
La géométrie algorithmique a pour objet l’étude, la conception et l’analyse des structures de données et algorithmes géométriques. Ce domaine se situe à l’interface entre les mathématiques et l’informatique, étant tout particulièrement en lien avec la géométrie et la topologie, la statistique, la combinatoire, l’algorithmique et la théorie des graphes.  Les résultats de la discipline sont à la fois utilisateurs et générateurs d’outils théoriques fondamentaux, et motivés par les nombreux domaines d’applications qui demandent de traiter de manière efficace des objets ou des masses de données géométriques: imagerie médicale, robotique, vision par ordinateur, ingénierie numérique et bio-informatique.

The Summer School BigOptim2015 : Large-Scale Optimization : Proximal Algorithms and Applications will be held in Grenoble, from June 29 to July 3, 2015.
Optimization is a multidisciplinary field: the need to solve increasingly more complex problems, with data of large size, attracts interest from experts of statistics, signal and image processing, bioinformatics... Indeed, it is challenging to minimize a sum of convex functions in high-dimensional spaces. If you have background in applied maths, signal processing, or any other field, but no competence at all in optimization, this summer school is for you!

La 5e Journée de la Recherche de l'université Stendhal aura lieu le mardi 26 mai de 9h à 17h30 à la Maison des Sciences de l'Homme-Alpes. Au programme de cette journée : des communications de chercheurs des laboratoires rattachés à l'université et une conférence de Marielle Macé sur le documentaire.
Anne Vilain, enseignante-chercheur en phonétique et Giovanni Depau, enseignant-chercheur en dialectologie au laboratoire GIPSA-lab participeront à cette journée.

This two-day workshop will feature invited talks by renowned experts in SLRA and related topics, including development of efficient algorithmic approaches to deal with these difficult nonconvex problems, analysis of their convergence and theoretical guarantees, convex relaxations of SLRA, applications of SLRA and relations to other techniques like tensor decompositions.

The 36th International Summer School of Automatic Control will be held in Grenoble in September 7 to 11, 2015. This Summer School will focus on the Positive invariance as a set-theoretic method for fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control.
