Alain Y. Kibangou is an Associate Professor at University Grenoble Alpes and a researcher of Gipsa-Lab. He is an Associate Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Johannesburg since 2022. He received a Ph.D. degree in control, signal, and image processing jointly from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, France, and from the Cadi Ayyad University ofMarrakesh, Morocco, in 2005.
He was a Postdoctoral Researcher successively with the I3S Laboratory, Sophia Antipolis, France, the LAAS, Toulouse, France, and the GIPSA-Lab, Grenoble, France. In 2009, he became an Associate Professor within the framework of the "CNRS-Higher Education chairs" program. He is the deputy director and an elected member of the Council of the Mathematics, Sciences and Technologies of Information and Communication research department of University Grenoble Alpes. He is the director of studies at the Electrical Engineering department of the University Institute of Technology of Grenoble. He is an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Control of Network Systems. His research interests include network systems, distributed estimation, urban mobility, nonlinear filtering and system identification.
